To determine whether a journal is a legitimate publisher of research papers, researchers should first determine if a reputable database indexes the journal. Second, researchers should check the journal's actual peer review process and assess prior issues to establish the quality of the journal's publication. To do this, researchers can verify the people who are on the editorial boards and avoid responding to any unsolicited email that promises a quick way to publish their paper. Thirdly, researchers should check with their professors and/or librarians for help. Formally, I believe that doing proper research will ensure professional credibility as well as save time for the researcher; also, doing source evaluation while writing reports continues to be important today.
