So I've got a bit of a situation with my Ford Fusion that's been nagging at me for the past couple of weeks. Every time I brake, especially at low speeds, there's this high-pitched squealing noise coming from what sounds like the front wheels, and it's getting progressively louder and more embarrassing, especially in parking lots where everyone can hear it. I know brake pads have wear indicators that squeal when they're getting low, so I'm hoping that's all it is, but I'm also a bit concerned because I've noticed the brake pedal feels slightly spongier than it used to, and there's a bit more travel before it really bites. I haven't noticed any vibration or pulling to one side, which I think would point to warped rotors or a stuck caliper, so maybe it's just pads and a fluid flush that's needed. I'd rather not leave it too long because I know worn brakes can lead to more expensive damage to the rotors if I keep driving on them. I'm not super confident doing brake work myself, especially bleeding the system, so I'd rather take it to a proper specialist who knows what they're doing. I've been looking around and came across
