I'm at that point where I need to replace the battery on my Mercedes GLE and I'm torn between sticking with the OEM Mercedes-branded battery or trying something different. The dealer wants a small fortune and I've heard mixed things about whether their batteries are actually better or just rebranded stuff with a hefty markup. A couple of my friends who are into off-roading swear by ACDelco because apparently they handle deep discharges way better than most brands, which is useful for me since I sometimes leave the car parked at the airport for weeks at a time when I travel. Has anyone here actually done a back-to-back comparison on the same car? Like, did you notice any difference in cranking power or how long it holds charge in the summer heat? I'm also a bit worried about the stop-start system because I've read that some aftermarket batteries don't play nice with the intelligent alternator management. Really just trying to avoid making an expensive mistake here, any honest feedback would be massively appreciated before I pull the trigger on anything.
